VALUE STUDY

My very first attempt to render skin texture. This is the most detailed piece I have ever done and I like how this turned out!

IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE, IT'S...KAL-EL SQUARE PANTS!

A fun painting I did for the Hybrid Hero Contest. I didn't come close to winning, much less being voted but I had a whole lot of fun doing this!

 I've never tried digital cross-hatching. I also never tried to really prepare a sketch before painting it. Whenever I cross-hatched with pencil and paper, my strokes disappear and become shading. I still need to control the strokes more though. These are for an assignment from the Advanced Caricature Class of Paul Moyse . Hopefully I'll get to paint them when I have more time!
