HAFANAPPLE
This is a teacup set I painted for a friend of mine, Veronika, who
shared half of her apple (and her home made yoghurt) with me during a Plein Air Painting one
morning when I only brought a banana. She is a talented artist who happens to also be the sole proprietor of the Vancouver Atelier. She has been supportive of the work that I do and I thought of giving her a little gift in return.
I thought of a teacup set because she loves
to drink tea. I initially thought of getting her an off the shelf one
with a cool design but I couldn't find any that would be meaningful
enough so I thought of designing my own. I went to Cowboys and Angels on
Kerrisdale to pick out the set and I spent a good 2 hours or so to get
this looking like half of an apple. The plate is a chocolate chip cookie
since she also brought cookies, among other things, for breakfast that
morning.
It's always good to stop by the
gratitude cafe and say thanks to the kindness and generosity of people
who come along your way.
